Problem Discovery
The market currently lacks a specialized platform that assists with the daily healthcare of the elderly.
With the population aging and limited medical resources, there is an increasing demand for comprehensive care and health management. A multifunctional product that integrates health monitoring, medication management, activity tracking, and emergency calls can significantly improve the quality of life for the elderly and provide support to caregivers. Developing such a product is essential to effectively address the needs of the elderly.

Researching Process
Research lets us immerse ourselves in users' experiences and truly empathize with their needs.
Through desk research, segment the target audience to understand their specific needs and preferences. By conducting interviews with the target users, we gather their insights and feedback. Creating user journey maps helps us identify potential issues and obstacles users may encounter during the usage process. Finally, through competitive analysis, we further determine the unique advantages of our product design.
Define the target user ---Desk Research
Home care for the elderly is the largest demand area in the market, accounting for 90%. The proportion of elderly populations globally and in China is increasing, and they are the primary group of users that require related platforms.
Segmenting target users
By condensing the list of potential users into two user profiles that are most likely to purchase our product. Conducting further research focused on this group will provide us with deeper insights into their needs and preferences, helping us better understand how to meet their expectations.
The interview with target user
Conducted interviews with 10 target users to gain a deeper understanding of their lifestyle habits, and then summarized the insights from those interviews to identify their needs and requirements for our product.
Interview insights
User journey maps
Created a user journey map to identify potential chokepoints in the user flow and improve the user experience.
Through the user journey map, we have identified that the step most prone to user abandonment is the input of information. Simplifying the input process to enhance the user experience is a key focus of our design.
Analysing market & competitions
We have found that existing products in the market with similar functionalities have complex user flows, lack historical record features, and do not provide tracking services for emergency situations. Through competitive analysis, we have further identified the advantages of our product design.
Challenges Faced While Designing
Seniors are not familiar with using online products.
The key to problem-solving is encouraging them to use our platform continuously and effectively.
Identifying the Pain Points
4 key problems that I focus on resolving
Through the research process, we gain a clearer understanding of the pain points in product design. During the design process, we will focus on addressing these issues to achieve the uniqueness of our product.
System Architecture
Considering our users' needs, we have designed a user flow that emphasizes minimal steps and time.
Considering our user group is not proficient in using online products., we have streamlined the process of entering medication information to minimize complexity.
Wireframes to Tell The Story
I want to be able to create and track my daily tasks quickly.
I want the fastest medication information input possible.
Final Solution
Simplify, Connect, Support
In order to make seniors feel comfortable, I chose warm colors to design the homepage. In addition, I also used an easy-to-use "easy mode" pattern, with large checkboxes, larger font sizes, and larger card designs, making it easier for seniors to select and mark the medications they need to take and to operate the interface more effectively.
Creating user-friendly experiences for elderly individuals is our mian focus.
We designed a simple and clear workflow. By following the prompts on the home page, users can enter the medication page to view basic medication information. We implemented larger fonts, checkboxes, and a progress bar to help users easily understand their medication status. Additionally, a calendar is available for convenient access to medication records.
Iterate
Ease,
Track,Improve
Our app combines ease, tracking, and improvement to provide a user-friendly medication management solution. Users can easily track their medication schedules and history, leading to improved medication adherence and overall health outcomes. With ease, tracking, and improvement at its core, our app simplifies medication management for better health.
Design for simplicity and accuracy in medication tracking.
Accurate medication recording information, easy modification and deletion of existing medication information, effortless switching between card or list view on the same page to view medication intake records, and precise tracking of each medication's intake in every time slot. Easy and simple check-in for medication records, with generated records that are conveniently searchable.
Iterate
Enhancing User Experience, particularly in the streamlined user flow for entering medication name information, while maintaining functionality, facilitating ease of use for elderly users, and improving overall user satisfaction and enjoying an upgrade experience.
Upgrade the experience
Simplifying medication info input for enhanced user experience
Our medication information input has a simpler hierarchy, reducing repetitive text input. We have replaced text input with more selection options, simplifying the user flow. This method significantly improves the user experience, making it more user-friendly and intuitive.
